Donate to Kids' Minds Matter

With the help of private donations, Kids’ Minds Matter has been able to generate awareness about Southwest Florida’s pediatric health care needs, bring professionals together for synergistic solutions, and reduce the waiting list for children’s mental and behavioral health services in Southwest Florida. We’ve come a long way, but there is so much more to do before every child can get the right care, in the right place at the right time.

Unmasking the Epidemic

We know there are children who either don’t know where to turn for help or are waiting for services due to a severe shortage of providers nationally, statewide and in our region. The pandemic has backed up an already long wait list for qualified care regionally.

Further, we know suicide was already the second leading cause of death in Florida, and experts estimated there were 64,000 children in need of mental health services in Southwest Florida, but that was before COVID-19 reared its ugly head.

“More than two thirds of parents who sought help since the start of the pandemic said they had witnessed a decline in their child’s emotional well-being (72%), behavior (68%), and physical health due to decreased activities/exercise (68%),” according to the Child Mind Institute’s 2020 Children’s Mental Health Report.

We’ve come a long way with our community’s support, but there is so much more to do before every child can get the right care, in the right place at the right time. Your donations empower our movement!
