MaKenna Anderson’s unwavering commitment to advocating and promoting child safety and development has been a driving force throughout her academic and professional career. She pursued this passion at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she earned a double major in psychology and communication with a focus on child development. Her extensive knowledge has been instrumental in her work as a Child Advocate Educator at Kids’ Minds Matter, where she continues to positively impact the lives of children and their families.

After graduation, MaKenna embarked on a successful career that spanned several years. She gained much experience in various settings, including clinical, school, community, and early learning environments. Throughout her career, MacKenna has always been eager to learn and grow to serve and advocate better for the children in her care. Additionally, she served as a behavior technician, where she provided outstanding support to children with autism.

MaKenna is deeply inspired by Kids’ Minds Matter’s mission to advocate children’s mental health by ensuring that they receive the right care at the right place and right time. She takes immense pride in being part of a team dedicated to making this vision a reality for every child. As a Child Advocate Educator, she is committed to creating collaborative and supportive environments focused on providing children with the resources and accommodations they need for their growth and well-being. She is constantly motivated by the care and compassion of her team members, who share her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families in our community. For MaKenna, being a Child Advocate Educator is more than a job; it’s her calling, and she’s honored to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves.

A kind-hearted person, MaKenna enjoys spending time at home with her beloved furry family – a rescue dog named Bruno and two rescue cats, Oliver and Oscar. She takes delight in the joy and small blessings that make each day special, whether it is a beautiful sunset or snuggling with one of her pets. Her faith is an essential part of her life and a source of strength, relying on it to guide her way to being a positive force in this world. MaKenna hopes to continue her education soon to enhance her knowledge, expertise, and skills to better serve children and their families.
